A news story that caught my eye this week while reading the Evening Standard, is the strong performance of the Liberty store, that is one of the most treasured luxury fashion sources in London.
One of the secret successes of the store are down to a collaboration between themselves and Turner Prize winning artist Grayson Perry who created a range of fabrics, but didnt stir too far away from the brands traditional patterns and also they allowed Ronnie Wood to design clothes exclusively for them.
It seems we cant get enough of exclusive clothes and accessories(collections between high street stores and designers sell out in moments-The Sonia Rykiel underwear collection was all gone within days of its launch) maybe fast fashion is getting a bit boring and predictable, maybe seeing the same Topshop shoes on every other person feels dull rather than exciting and exclusive items make us feel we are buying into something special that we can treasure rather than throw away after a few months.
